Governor Candidate

Don moved to Ohio in 2007 with his first wife, Marcy, seeking better opportunities and a more affordable life.

Marcy later developed leukemia and fought the disease for two years before passing away. Her death became a period of profound loss, reflection, renewed faith, and personal growth for Don.

After a time of mourning Don met Sarah through a faith-oriented dating site, and their shared experiences formed the foundation of a new chapter. He moved to Ottawa in 2014, and they married a few months later. Their family now includes their son, Jeremiah, and his stepdaughter, Cameron. Northwestern Ohio has become the place they proudly call home.

Don served six years in the United States Navy, including two deployments to the Middle East: Desert Storm/Desert Shield and Southern Watch. His experiences with service, loss, family, and renewal have helped shape the person he is today.
